NOTABLE FACTS

Kathurumurunga (agathi in Tamil) which is known as Sesbania grandiflora belongs to the bean family, Fabaceae. It is native to tropical Asia and is widespread in Sri Lanka, India, Malaysia, Indonesia, and the Philippines. This fast-growing tree is commonly found in the backyard of many Sri Lankan households. Commonly grown on paddy bunds, and around gardens or cropping fields for its nitrogen contribution.

 

AYURVEDA & MEDICINAL USES

 According to Sri Lankan native treatment, the leaves are used as a cure for fever, sinus, and respiratory problems.

The Kathurumurunga leaves can be made into a delicious tea which has antibiotic properties.

Ingredients
200 g Kathurumurunga leaves
1 onion sliced
1 clove of garlic
some curry leaves
1 green chili sliced
1/4 tumaric powder
2 tsp chilli pices
4 tsp chopped Maldives fish
salt
2 tsp coconut oil

Method
1. clean and wash the kathurumurunga leaves
2. add some oil,add onion,garlic,green chilli saute for a few minutes
3. add traumatic and chilli and Maldive fish.add katurumuringa leaves cook for 2 to 3 minutes
4. mixed well.cook in slow fire.add salt and take off the fire
